Parker Cann joined Boeing Employees’ Credit Union (BECU), Seattle, Washington, in May 2009, as its Senior Vice President and General Counsel. BECU is a membership-based cooperative, with over 700,000 members and $9.5 billion in assets, making it the fourth largest credit union in the United States.
 
In addition to his duties as chief legal officer at the Credit Union, Parker oversees Governmental Affairs at the state and federal level for BECU. He has over 30 years of experience in the financial institutions industry and has served in various management, legal and regulatory positions.
 
Before joining BECU, Parker served as the President and CEO of Columbia Credit Union (Vancouver, Washington). While at Columbia, he served on the boards of Identity Clark County and the Columbia River Economic Development Council, organizations devoted to economic development in Southwest Washington.
 
During his career, Parker served for seven years as the chief credit union regulator for Washington State. While a state regulator, he served on the board and various committees of the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors (NASCUS), a nationwide trade association representing state credit union regulators. He currently serves as chairman of the Advisory Council of NASCUS.
 
Parker received a Juris Doctor degree from the Law School of the College of William and Mary (Williamsburg, Virginia), and a Bachelor of Arts degree, graduating magna cum laude, from Washington College (Chestertown, Maryland). He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association (inactive).
 
Parker and Carol celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this year and have three grown children who live in Seattle and Portland. Parker and Carol live aboard their Hatteras powerboat, Akeeva, at Shilshole Bay Marina in Seattle, and delight in cruising the waters of Puget Sound and northward.
